SUPERINTENDENT  REGISTRATION  DISTRICT.


These districts are the areas used for the registration of births, marriages and deaths. They corresponded, up  to 1921 in the whole country and from 1922 to 1996 in the Republic of Ireland, with the Poor Law Union Areas.



In County Louth the Superintendent Registration Districts are:

Dundalk (part also was in County Armagh to 1921 and County Monaghan);
Ardee (part also is in County Meath) and
Drogheda (part also is in County Meath).
